Film Processing
Our customer's color film is processed on high-quality Colex rack-and-hanger processors for the most consistent, highest quality results.
Control strips are run each morning before any customer film is processed. The strips are analyzed and plotted to monitor the quality of our process. To insure consistency in our control strips, they are stored frozen, minimizing the likelihood of even small changes in their color response.
Rack and hanger (dip and dunk) technology
Most professional photographers demand rack and hanger processors. These machines, also called dip and dunk processors, support the film by its edges in a hanger. The hanger is transported by the machine in and out of various chemistries by an overhead lifting mechanism. This is the most gentle method of processing film. It is least likely to damage or scratch film, but is the slowest, taking about twice as long to process as roller transport machines. The extra time is necessary because of the slower drying rates of rack and hanger machines.
35mm slides mounting
35 mm slides are mounted after processing in standard plastic 2 inch by 2 inch mounts with a 24 by 36 mm opening. For higher quality projection and protection Dodge Color uses Byers plastic mounts. A variety of glass or registered mounts are also available. Imprinting on plastic slide mounts is available. Dodge Color boxes your slides in plastic presentation boxes.
