ICC and ColorSync workflows.
Our color professionals take exceptional interest in satisfying your color requirements. Our workflows are designed to properly maintain color integrity by using ICC compliant color profiling software. Each scan is carefully evaluated by experienced operators and soft-proofed on profiled monitors or proofed on profiled output devices prior to release. See our color management page for an overview of this process.
Color Work Spaces
We normally use AdobeRGB and US Web Coated (SWOP) v2 color profiles as defaults. If you use non-standard profiles, please include those profiles separately with your job.
Scanning
Our scanners are calibrated to provide the optimum image capture, without clipping color information, and conversion to the appropriate output color space. Color tagged RGB scans offer maximum flexibility in color managed applications, assuring the best rendition of color data to preserve color intention. Ask for a color managed RGB scan on your next order.
Color editing
Color editing occurs after the proof is made, assuring the best match between original and proof. Industry standard 5000K light booths are used to eliminate the possibility of metameric effects. Carefully profiled 24 bit color monitors and Kodak Custom Color Tools™ profile editors permit excellent soft proofs. Profiled RGB to CMYK conversion algorithms assure optimum rendition of color data, regardless of final output device specs. Color files can be adjusted to match client supplied swatches or proofs, within the limits of the output devices.
Output Color
Our printing devices accept RGB and CMYK data, monitored by experienced color professionals. All file data is converted to the correct white point, gamma, color space, and ink densities for each device. Carefully edited color profiles are created for each device and for each medium and ink set for that device. Large format work is proofed for client approval prior to running the job.
